BINHI Conservation Park ICCEM-CLSU
Lopez-led geothermal leader Energy Development Corporation (EDC) in partnership with the Institute for Climate Change and Environmental Management, Central Luzon State University, continues to save more endangered native trees by doing a joint effort to establish a BINHI Tree Park. The CLSU-BINHI Conservation Park Located within the campus of Central Luzon State University (CLSU) in Nueva Ecija, is the 3rd park constructed for EDC Binhi. In-situ conservation is the process of conserving ecosystems and natural habitats and the maintenance and recovery of viable populations of species in their natural surroundings. In this particular conservation, the project will focus on the rare and threatened tree species, such as with our endemic trees. Endemic trees are species that can only be found in certain areas which makes them challenging to conserve since they only thrive under certain condition. Trees provide many benefits, one is providing really clean oxygen, provide quality wood, protect watershed and freshwater resource and provide balance, habitat and food sources to the ecosystem.
